How can I cast my anxiety on God

Casting your anxiety on God does not mean you stop feeling it, it means you stop carrying it by yourself.

Casting your anxiety on God does not mean you stop feeling it, it means you stop carrying it by yourself.

1. God invites you to release control, not to pretend nothing is wrong

1 Peter 5:6-7 says, “Humble yourselves therefore under the mighty hand of God… casting all your care upon him.” Letting go of anxiety starts with admitting you do not have full control over the outcome, and that it is okay not to.

2. You can trust Him because He actually cares about you

The same verse ends with a reason, “for he careth for you.” This is not generic advice, it is a promise that God specifically cares about what you are going through.

3. Replace the anxious thought with a concrete one

Isaiah 26:3 says, “Thou wilt keep him in perfect peace, whose mind is stayed on thee.” Peace comes when you actively point your mind toward something concrete about God, not when you just try to stop thinking about the problem.

4. Talk to God the way you would talk to someone you trust

Psalm 62:8 says, “Pour out your heart before him.” You do not need formal language, it is about saying exactly what you feel, without holding anything back.

5. Repeat the process as many times as you need to

Anxiety is rarely solved with a single prayer. Philippians 4:6 uses the phrase “in every thing,” which shows this is a constant practice, not a one time event.

Casting your anxiety on God is an act of trust, not weakness. Every time you do it, you are recognizing that God is big enough to carry what you cannot.
